Dermaplaning

Benefits of dermaplaning treatment

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that involves gently scrapping the surface of your skin with a surgical scalpel, Dermaplaning is actually one of the most effective dermatologist-backed solutions for dealing with dull skin. This treatment removes dead skin and vellus hair from the surface of the epidermis. This helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and hyper-pigmentation allows deeper product absorption and helps to resurface the top layer of the skin. Dermaplaning reduces the build of dead skin cells that clog your hair follicles and pores, which can not only cause pimples but block your products from absorbing. Exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow. You will notice a difference with how your make up sits on your skin to, there is a more smooth  appearance with no patchy areas.

During Treatment

The thought of someone sliding a blade over your face can be daunting however dermaplaning is totally painless and my clients tell me it is actually relaxing. During treatment i will initially do a double cleanse with products matched to your skin type. I will ask questions about your skin concerns and fully examine your skin and discuss your home care plan. I will proceed to the treatment gently gliding the blade over the skin removing the build up of dead skin cells and vellus hairs. I use a very gentle enzyme peel to slough off and dead skin cells left on the surface. I use LED light therapy to end the treatment. Led has a multitude of benefits including killing bacteria, encouraging collagen production and reducing hyper-pigmentation.

Post Treatment

Majority of clients are delighted with there skin after dermaplaning and have no issues at all. Few clients have reported a small breakout the reason behind this is when you remove the dead skin from the surface fresh skin is exposed anything that is sitting under the dead skin is exposed and drawn out by the cell turnover. This is not a common thing to happen with dermaplaning unless after care advice is ignored.
